HELP HARNESS THE POWER OF ART TO SAVE OUR OCEANS!

by SplashTrash International

The International SplashTrash ArtExpo harnesses the power of art to save our oceans. Support the activism of almost 200 hundred artists from 41 countries to stop ocean pollution.

The news is now everywhere - we are filling our oceans with plastic; by 2050 there will be more pounds of plastic in the ocean than pounds of fish – threatening our environment, our human health and our local and global economies.

So how do we reach enough people to reduce their plastic footprint before it’s too late?

Unsung ocean heroes around the world are harnessing the power of art to raise awareness about plastic in our oceans and what we can do to make a difference. They create art from splashtrash – plastic collected from oceans, rivers and other waterways – to illuminate this growing threat. They reach thousands of people around the globe each day – people that scientists and other environmentalists might not ever reach - and inspire them to take action.

The International SplashTrash ArtExpo is the first global platform to promote and connect these artists. In only ten months, almost 200 artists from 41 countries have entered and more are entering every day. The ArtExpo has promoted these artists via social media, the Sixth International Marine Debris Conference sponsored by NOAA and the United Nations, "The Joe" Center for the Arts, Port St. Joe, Florida and the US Park Service Assateague Island National Seashore Visitors Center. The ArtExpo finalist in the European Universal Seas - “Pure or Plastic?" competition and will be featured in their upcoming guidebook. All this in less than a year!

We need your help to continue to illuminate and promote these unsung ocean hero’s art, activism and advocacy.

This giving season, help the International SplashTrash ArtExpo harness the power of art to save our oceans.
